Good Morning, Spartans. The track and field team had multiple podium finishes at the Mountain West Championship! On day one, Zoe Ewell took first in the 200m dash prelim. On day two, Ethan Fong placed third in the long jump. Ewell took first in the 60m dash. On the final day, Ewell took second in the 60m dash and Fong was second in the triple jump.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Two Meets. The gymnastics team took second place against Sacramento State and California on Friday. The Spartans scored 196.000. Mikaela Pitts and Kaviana Jurries shared the vault title. On Sunday, the Spartans hosted the final home meet of the season against Boise State, Arizona State and Sacramento State. SJSU had a final score of 195.925. Jurries, Sophie Patterson and Kaylee Larson each won event titles.

🔼 Water Win. The women’s water polo team beat Cal State Monterey 15-5 on Sunday. Darcy Spark recorded five goals. She now leads the team with 54 goals overall. Bridget Cranley scored four goals.

🔼 At the Beach. The beach volleyball team secured multiple wins over the weekend. The Spartans beat Pacific 5-0, fell to Saint Mary’s 3-2, beat Santa Clara 4-1 and beat Sacramento State 3-2. The team is now 3-3 overall and has a two-match win streak.

🔼 The Classic. The softball team competed in the Capital Classic this past weekend. The Spartans shut out Sacramento State 2-0 in eight innings. Delaney Faus pitched eight innings, surrendering only four hits and no runs. The women fell to Sacred Heart on Saturday, 8-4, and Sacramento State 6-1. SJSU fell to UC Davis on Sunday, 4-0. Sophia Burdick led the Spartans by going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate.

🔼 Diamond Plays. The baseball team took on Saint Mary’s this past weekend. The Spartans fell in game one 15-5 in seven innings. The men came back to win 8-0 on Saturday. David Thomas threw a complete-game shutout. The men fell behind in the final game 13-4.

Streak! The men’s basketball team faced Colorado State on Saturday. Colby Garland had another 20-plus point game in the 85-73 loss. Garland scored 28 points.

This marked his # straight game scoring 20-plus points.
