🔼 All Eyes On 2. Quarterback Chevan Cordeiro was named to the 2023 Maxwell Award watch list. The Maxwell Award goes to the best player in college football. No. 2 is catching eyes across the country, just two weeks ago he was named the 2023 Mountain West Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Last season, he threw for 3,251 yards and 23 touchdowns, both tops in the conference.

🔼 Academic Excellence. There were 91 San José State student-athletes who earned 2022-23 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Awards, a school record. The honor goes to student-athletes who have a 3.5 GPA or better. Women’s golfer Antonia Malate has received five of these awards. The football team led the way with 12 honorees, with the women’s soccer team close behind with 11 and women’s swimming & diving with 10.
