Spartan Brew 4/20: Baseball Wins Series Against Fresno State
The baseball team won its two-game series against Fresno State.

📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Two Game Series. The Baseball team faced Fresno State in a two-game series this past weekend. On Friday, Neil Jansen went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, hitting a double ad the game-tying three-run home run. This marked his first homer of the season. SJSU won 6-3. The men won the second game 10-2. Alex Fernandes reached base five times, scoring four runs and added a home run and a double. Jake McCoy hit his 10th home run of the season. Peyton Rowles extended his hit streak to 15 games.
🔼 Run It. The Track & Field team competed in multiple meets this past weekend. On day one of the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. SAC Relays, Audrey McElmurry had a personal best in the women’s triple jump. The 4×400 men’s relay placed fourth. On day two, Myla Easley took second in the women’s long jump. The 4×100 team placed eighth.
🔼 On Base. The Softball team took on Utah State this past weekend. The Spartans fell in game one 6-5, and won game two 10-5. Reina Zermeno went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs and a triple. SJSU recorded 15 hits, which is the second most this season. The women fell in game three 7-6. Zermeno hit a grand slam in the sixth inning.
🔼 Coming Up. The Women’s Golf team will play in the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship beginning on Tuesday. The competition is in Rancho Mirage, Calif., at Mission Hills Country Club. The women are looking for their third title in five years. The Spartans are the top seed heading into the tourney.
🔼 How Fun! Following the final whistle of the Spring Game, nearly 100 local kids took to the field for the annual Kids Camp presented by CEFCU. The participants received hands-on instruction from Spartan players and coaches, creating lasting memories with their local heroes.
Spring Game Highlights. The Football team’s annual Spring Game was on Saturday.
