📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Continuing To Climb. The gymnastics squad continues to improve this season as they got the 196.400-196.175 win over UC Davis on Friday. There were multiple season-highs for the Spartans. They scored a season-high 49.000 on vault and bars with Madison Kirsch and Sophia Konieczny taking the event titles. Lauren Macpherson led the beam team to a season-best 49.050, and she took home the title with a 9.925 score. Jada Mazury won the floor title with a 9.925 score. This was the first meet of the season where the Spartans scored a 49.000 or better on all four events.

🔼  Walk It Off. The Spartan softball team got their first win of the season on Sunday, thanks to a walk-off single in the seventh inning. They beat Tennessee State 3-2 at the NorCal Kickoff. Shay McDowell hit two RBI singles, including the walk-off with two outs. Lacie Ham threw a complete game and struck out three in her first win of the season. They’ll be back in action on Friday as they host Silicon Valley I.

🔼 Aquatic Aces. The women’s water polo team had a successful weekend at the ASU Invitational, picking up wins over UC Santa Barbara, Ottowa, and Marist. Paxtyn Reihs had 100% shooting accuracy and four goals in the win over Ottowa. Sinia Plotz had a hat trick in the win over Marist.

🔼 Fairway Finale. The men’s golf team had an exciting final day at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate on Saturday. Carl Corpus finished second-place in a strong field, he shot a final round of 64 (-8). The Spartans shot 21-under par in the final round, which was the lowest below par score the Spartans have ever shot in an 18-hole round. The team finished tied for 12th-place.

👕 SPARTAN CAREER CLOSET

Spartan Athletics has partnered with Kaiser Permanente to host a professional clothing drive that supports the on-campus Spartan Career Closet. 

From now until the middle of March, fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used professional clothes at any Men’s or Women’s basketball game or gymnastics meet. Donation bins will be visible at the entrance to Provident Credit Union Event Center to collect your donations. 

An alternate method of donation is to purchase items directly from the Spartan Career closet’s Amazon wishlist. All purchases will be sent directly to the Spartan Career Closet.
