🔼 Dancing Queens. The women’s golf team tees off at the NCAA Championships this morning at 7:35 am! The Spartan lineup includes Kajsa Arwefjäll, Lucia Lopez Ortega, Louisa Carlbom, Rebecca Gyllner, and Moa Andersson. The tournament is being held at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California through May 22. Hear from Coach Dormann before the Spartans get started.

🔼 Start Strong. Spartan baseball opened the weekend with an 8-7 win over New Mexico. It was a back-and-forth battle until the Spartans went up 8-6. Sebastian Orduno went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and a run scored. Jesse Gutierrez earned the win on the mound in four innings pitched and four strikeouts. They be back in action at 6:05 pm tomorrow, before concluding the series on Saturday at 1:05 pm.

🔼  Big Man Comin’ Through. SJSU men’s basketball has added a big center to the roster. Chol Marial is a 7’2 center who transferred from Oregon State. He played the last two seasons with the Beavers after transferring from Maryland. He played in 21 games last season, averaging 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. A fun fact about Chol: he has 16 brothers and sisters!

Chol will bring us the experience and maturity we need on the interior. He has a phenomenal wingspan and elite size at his position. We are also excited about what he adds on offense, on the block and on the perimeter. With Chol being honored as a CSC Academic All-District selection, he fits the all-around profile that we look for in a Spartan.

- Coach Tim Miles

🔼  That’s A Wrap. The men’s golf team concluded their season at the NCAA Austin Regional. Carl Corpus led the team overall, tying for 41st-place. Zubair Firdaus shot 3-under 68 in the final round on Wednesday. The Spartans finished the regional in 12th-place.

KOOZA – Under the Big Top – Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, Apr. 18 - May 26, 2024

KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil: It combines two circus traditions - acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.
