🔼 Fever Pitch. Soccer season begins this weekend for the San José State women as they’ll play an exhibition game at Cal Poly on Saturday. There is a lot to be excited about this soccer season! The Spartans won the Mountain West last season after going 6-3 in conference play and won the Mountain West tournament, sweeping the titles for the first time in school history. Jada Wilson was named the Mountain West Defender of the Year and Bente Pernot was the Mountain West Freshman of the year and Tournament MVP. The Spartans will be at home on August 20 to take on UCSB.

🔼 In The Teens. We’re officially less than 20 days away from football season! There are just 19 days until kickoff at USC, so today we’re going to highlight No. 19 — Noah McNeal-Franklin. The junior linebacker is from Vallejo, California and played two seasons at Contra Costa College in 2021 & 2022. He won the 2021 Chris Papas Bowl and was named a 2022 Preseason Juco All-American. He played a variety of positions in high school, including running back, safety, and defensive end.

All About Community. Over 130 San José State athletes and volunteers showed up to clean up San José community with Mayor Matt Mahan. Coach Brennan had every single member of the football team there to do work in the South University and Reed neighborhoods. If you’re interested in joining one of the clean-ups, you can sign up here.
