Good morning! As we wait on Saturday to roll around, take a listen to Coach Brennan’s pre New Mexico press conference.

What else are we pouring into today’s Brew?

⛳️ Three Spartans finish top-10
🎽 Star-studded staff
⚔️ And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Marvelous In The Midwest. After day one of the Illini Women’s Invitational, Darae Chung was tied for first-place and the team sat in fifth! On the final day, the Spartans moved up a spot and finished in fourth-place. Rebecca Gyliner and Darae tied for ninth. Tessa Kremser competed as an individual and was tied for first after round one. She ended up finishing fifth overall. Each of them had their best collegiate finishes! Coach Dormann had plenty to talk about with three players in the top-10.

🔼 Three For Me. The men’s golf team finished in third-place out of 14 teams at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational. Zubair Firdaus led the way, shooting 10-under and finishing tied for 11th. All five Spartans on the lineup finished under par.

🔼 Booked & Busy. Tomorrow night will be a packed night on the pitch for the Spartan soccer teams. The women’s team will get it started at Boise State at 6pm and the men’s team will be at home hosting California Baptist at 7pm. You can get tickets for the men’s game here! Speaking of Boise State, the volleyball team will be hosting the Broncos tomorrow night at 6pm. Before all of those events happen, the No. 14 men’s water polo team will be in the pool against No. 16 Santa Clara at 4pm tomorrow. Head over to campus to support the Spartans!

🔼 Star-Studded Staff. Two Olympic Gold Medalist’s are joining the San José State track & field/cross country staff! Tianna Madison and David Verburg will be bringing plenty of experience to the team. Tianna was a superstar at Tennessee in college and went on to become a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist. David competed internationally for 16 years and was a relay racer for Team USA, winning Gold at the Rio Olympics.

🔼 Go Time. Former Spartan men’s golfer Vijay Srinivasan qualified for the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open! He placed top-four in the qualifier in Las Vegas. This will be his first career PGA Tour start and he’ll be in the field with fellow Spartan alum, Mark Hubbard. Mark finished top-5 last week at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
