📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Top Notch. The Spartans are nominated for SVG Sports Media Awards for the third-straight year. This is the first year they’ve been nominated for two categories in the same season. They’re nominated for their live game production of football against Cal Poly. The game aired on NBC Sports Bay Area with Neal Ruhl and former NFL and Spartan quarterback David Fales on the broadcast. The Spartans are also nominated for outstanding special feature-unscripted for The Charge episode on mental health. Winners will be announced May 29 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel.

🔼 One More Time. Spartan baseball will be in action for the final time of the regular season, starting tomorrow. The Spartans are hosting New Mexico at Excite Ballpark tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. The Lobos are coming off a weekend win against Nevada, while the Spartans are coming off a big Sunday win over Cal. The game will air on NBC Sports Bay Area.

🔼 We’re Live. Two Spartan football games will air on The CW this fall! The Spartans will play at Washington State on September 20 at 7 p.m. They’ll also play at Oregon State at 12:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. on The CW. More television broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

🔼  New Addition. The men’s basketball team signed Sadraque NgaNga, a 6’10 forward. The Angola native spent last year at Seton Hall and his freshman season at Boise State. He played in 19 games at Seton Hall, recording a career-best nine rebounds against FDU.

Sadraque is a strong, athletic forward who can stretch the floor for us. He has been on our radar for several years as he was a top-100 prospect in the class of 2022. He has great ball-in-hand skills, especially for his height and length. We can use him in a variety of ways. I am very excited to see Sadraque grow in our system and display his skillset.

🔼  Happy Days Ahead. We’re also welcoming Sadaidriene “Day Day” Hall to the men’s basketball team! He transfers to San José State from Stephen F. Austin, where he spent the last three seasons. The 6’5 forward was a 2022-23 Second Team All-WAC honoree. He averaged 10.7 points and 4.8 rebounds last season. The Sulphur Springs, Texas native set his high school’s records for points, rebounds, and assists.

DayDay is a gritty forward who will add toughness to our roster. He will be a great piece for us on the offensive and defensive end. He has a special skill of coming up with the ball and scoring in traffic. DayDay has a mentality and motor that is second to none.
