Good morning! The weekend is here and it’s a busy one around here! There’s basketball, swimming, diving, and more — so let’s dive right in.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Home At Last. The women’s basketball team will be home this weekend for the first time since January 3rd. They’ll host Nevada tomorrow at 2 pm as they search for their second win of conference play. Come out and support the Spartans and the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, Jyah LoVett! 🔼 Diving Deep. The Spartan diving team is headed to UCLA for the Bruin Diving Invitational taking place today and tomorrow. They’ll be competing against the host school, Stanford, USC, Utah, Cal Baptist, BYU, Fresno State, Hawaii, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Pepperdine, San Diego State, UNLV, and Wisconsin. This is the first outing of 2024 for the squad that has had some success this season. Jenna Jagielski has a win under her belt from her 3-meter and 1-meter dives against UC Davis. She also made the finals in all three diving events at the Mizzou Invite.

🔼 The Other Half. On the other hand, the swim team will face Cal State East Bay and Simon Fraser University at the Pioneer Pool! This is also their first meet since the Mizzou Invite in mid-November. At that meet, Ela Freiman broke a school record and placed third in the 400-yard individual medley. Multiple Spartan swimmer have some wins under their belt, and are looking for more in 2024.

🔼 Up, Up, And Away. The men’s basketball team hits the road this weekend for a conference matchup at Air Force! The Spartans are coming off a tough battle with No. 19 San Diego State, while the Falcons are coming off a loss to Nevada. San José State’s Alvaro Cardenas is currently third in the conference in total assists with 91. The Spartans will tip off at 6:30 pm tomorrow on the Mountain West Network.
