San José State University Director of Athletics Jeff Konya has been elected to serve as the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee chairperson for the 2027–28 season and vice chair for the 2026–27 season. This prestigious appointment follows a recent two-year extension of his term on the panel, allowing him to represent the Mountain West Conference through August 31, 2028. The 12-member committee is responsible for selecting, seeding, and bracketing the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship field, as well as overseeing the tournament's overall administration and promotion. Konya, a two-time NACDA Director of the Year, brings a wealth of national committee experience and a deep background in collegiate athletic administration to this leadership role.
