🔼 THANK YOU! Longtime Spartan supporters Diane and Chris Gordon committed to a multimillion dollar estate gift to San Jose State Athletics. The commitment represents the largest estate gift in San José State history. The future gift, made through the Gordons’ estate plans, will support women’s athletics at SJSU, with half of the commitment designated for the women’s golf program and the remaining half dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Spartan women’s sports.

🔼 Watch Him! Football player Tyler Chen was named to the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. The award recognizes college football players who combine exemplary community service with leadership achievement on and off the field. Chen hosted and led the Robert Sanders fifth-grade campus tour, participated in every Beyond Sparta event, and has been an active mentor in local youth mentoring programs over the past two years.

🔼 Selected. Men’s Golf head coach John Kennaday has been named Chairman of the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee. He is the first active coach to serve in the position. The nine-member NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee plays a vital role in national collegiate athletics, overseeing and administering the NCAA Men's Golf Championships and team selection, and shaping policies on championship formats, scoring, media coverage, and overall operations.

🔼 First Match. The women’s soccer team fell to Santa Clara in the first match of the regular season. Paige Fry had eight saves, but Santa Clara won 2-0. Myanne Fernandes was the only freshman in the starting lineup.

Looking to do Great. The Men’s Soccer team had an impressive .700 win percentage in 2025. The men are back in action for the 2026 season with two exhibition matches starting on Saturday.
