🔼 Tre Day. Spartan football player Tre Jenkins has been named a Campbell Trophy semifinalist for the second-straight year! The trophy goes to the best college football scholar-athlete for his success in the classroom, on the field, and as a leader. Tre is a graduate student who graduated last fall with a bachelor of science degree in justice studies. He already has 34 tackles and one interception this season at safety. He’s also on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list.

🔼 Our House. Last night, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month, hear how some of the team members celebrate! The Spartans’ men’s soccer team got the 1-0 win over Air Force thanks to a Josh Lucas goal. David Sweeney tied the all-time SJSU record with his 18th-career clean sheet! Angel Iniguez and Gaku Nishimura currently lead the WAC in assists. The men’s team will play Utah State on Sunday at 1pm.

🔼 Home, Sweet Home. The Spartan volleyball team welcomed themselves home for the first time since opening weekend with a big win over Nevada! The Spartans won in four sets and Brooke Bryant recorded a career-high 16 kills. Brooke Slusser racked up 11 kills, 35 assists, and 9 digs. Check out the highlights! The squad will be home again on Saturday as they host Fresno State at 2pm.

🔼  Making Her Mark. Women’s soccer player Jennah Loggins received the CalHOPE Courage Award at the San José Earthquakes game on Saturday. She joined Bridget Howard on the Mountain West Network to tell her story and talk about her season so far. The women’s soccer team got a big conference win on the road at UNLV, winning 3-0. Bella Flocchini, Sabrina Weinman, and Cynthia Flores scored goals to get the win. The Spartans will play at Nevada on Sunday at 1pm.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

The San José State special teams unit sits at the top of the Mountain West and fourth in the nation in efficiency! They lead with one punt return touchdown and the highest punt return average. The Spartans also lead the conference in total offensive yards with 1,778. The team is tied with the most offensive touchdowns at 18.
