🔼 UPSET! The men’s basketball team did it! The No. 11 seed Spartans upset No. 6 seed Boise State in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament. SJSU won 84-74 on Wednesday, snapping Boise State’s five-game win streak. This game marks the first time in history the Spartans have beaten Boise State in a game not on the home floor. The men shot 49.2% from the field and 36% from deep. Colby Garland scored 22 points. The men wrapped up their time at the tournament with a 93-77 loss to New Mexico on Thursday. Garland led the team with 20 points.

🔼 Conference Honor. Men’s basketball player Colby Garland was named to the Third Team All-Mountain West. Garland had one of the best statistical seasons in SJSU history. At 20.3 points per game, Garland was the Mountain West's second leading scorer. He also averaged 4.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting .497 from the field, .386 from three and .840 from the line on the season. Garland became the first Spartan since Olivier Saint-Jean in 1996-97 to score 20 or more points in 10 consecutive games.

🔼 Day 1. The swim and dive team competed in the CSCAA NIC on Thursday. The 400 medley relay team won the finals heat. Vilma Lindberg finished fourth in the 50 breast.
