Spartan Brew 11/10: Men's Water Polo is WCC Regular Season Champs!
The men's water polo team will be the No. 2 seed in the WCC Tournament.

Good Morning, Spartans. There has been a change of schedule for the women’s basketball program. The San José-Bethesda game for today has been postponed due to health issues with the Bethesda team. Tickets purchased will be honored at the future game.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Champions! The men’s water polo team is WCC Co-Regular Season Champions! The No. 7 Spartans beat No. 15 Cal Baptist 14-7 on Saturday. The men secured the No. 2 seed in the WCC Tournament. The Spartans ended their weekend falling to No. 16 UC Irvine 11-9.
🔼 Shutout! The men’s soccer team shut out San Diego State 4-0 to advance to the WAC Tournament semifinals. Arnold Matshazhi, Cameron Cook, Jesper Bakli and Amir Anwary scored goals. The Spartans had 19 shots, and nine were on goal. Goalkeeper Edgar Guerra had five saves.
🔼 Match Won. The volleyball team beat Nevada 3-1. Naima Foster and Morgan Castaneda both had double-digits in kills. Foster led the team with 13 kills and Castaneda had a season-best 12 kills. Ava Hewitt-Smith recorded four solo blocks, increasing her season total to 33. 🏐 Here’s more about the win.

🔼 Conference Honors. The men’s soccer team had five players earn All-WAC honors. Angel Iniguez, Gilberto Rivera and Arnold Matshazi were named to the First Team. Niklas Dossmann earned Second Team honors. Fernando Duarte earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team. ⚽️ Learn about each player.
🔼 Court Report. The women’s tennis team competed at the CSUN Invitational. Cristina Mateos Losada and Katarina Brajovic each won in their singles matches on the final day.

🔼 Just Short. The football team fell to Air Force 26-16. The Spartans put up 435 total yards. Leland Smith recorded a career-high nine receptions for 144 yards. Walker Eget’s streak of passing attempts without an interception ends at 275, the third-longest streak in Mountain West history.
🔼 Season Opener. The women’s basketball team fell in its first game of the regular season against BYU, 70-51. Maya Anderson led the team with 17 points and eight rebounds. Rylei Waugh had 14 points and Allie Cummins tallied 10.

Career-High. The men’s basketball team faced UC Santa Barbara and fell 85-74. Colby Garland scored a career-high 30 points, shot 11-of-13 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line.
