📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Micky Magic. Spartan pitcher Micky Thompson was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week! He pitched his first-ever complete game on Friday night to beat New Mexico, 5-1. He threw seven strikeouts and allowed just one run. His 131 pitches were a career-high and the most under a Brad Sanfilippo coached team at San José State. The Spartans will take on New Mexico in the Mountain West Tournament tomorrow at 1:30 pm.

🔼 Finished Strong. Spartan women’s golfers Louisa Carlbom and Rebecca Gyllner completed the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships on Monday. They both finished in the top-35. Louisa tied for 28th at 6-over, her best finish individually at the championships in three years. Rebecca finished tied for 34th at 7-over, also her best finish at the contest.

🔼  Sweet Sixteen. The Spartan track & field team has sent 16 athletes, four women and 12 men, to the NCAA West Preliminaries this week! The men’s team will kick things off today and the women will start tomorrow. The Spartans are coming off strong performances at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships, finishing with a team total of 164 points for the most at the meet in school history.

🔼  Championship Course. A golfers dream would be to play on the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course, where the Players Championship is held. Spartan men’s golfer Marlon Jones played two of three rounds there and finished in ninth-place at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship! The tournament showcases programs and individuals that are underrepresented and/or underserved throughout the nation.

⛳️ SPARTAN GOLF TOURNAMENT

San Jose State is hitting the links on June 21 for the Spartan Golf Tournament at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club. All proceeds from the event directly benefit SJSU student-athletes. The day begins with 18 holes of golf on the highly rated golf course then rolls into a cocktail hour featuring great raffle prizes. The event concludes with dinner and auction. 

Throughout the day you can mingle with SJSU student-athletes, coaches and staff to learn more about how your support directly affects the Spartans’ success.
