🔼 Staff Updates. Men’s soccer head coach Simon Tobin announced he will retire on Aug. 31. Jesus “Chuy” Sanchez will be named Interim Head Coach. Jamie Reid will return as the Associate Head Coach. Tobin compiled a career record of 394-281-89 (87-101-37 at SJSU). He led SJSU to the WAC Tournament every year since 2017, reaching the championship game in 2017, 2018, 2022, 2024, and 2025. Tobin was also named WAC Coach of the Year in 2021.

🔼 Sunday Recap. The women’s soccer team fell to Cal Poly 3-0 on Sunday. Indigo Sims led the Spartans with two shots. Kelsie Luquin recorded her first start for the Spartans and made six saves. Paige Fry entered the match in the 56th minute and made two saves. Elizabeth Ortega made her debut.

Remembering Him. SJSU mourns the loss of All-American football alumnus James “Jim” Carter.
