🔼 Huge Win. The Men’s Soccer team secured its first win of the season in its home opener match against Saint Mary’s. The Spartans won 4-2 on Sunday. This also is the first win for Interim Head Coach Jesus Sanchez. Amir Anwary registered a brace and two assists. Fregoso Bautista and Tortell Daly each scored a goal. Goalkeeper Ronin Axelson made five saves.

🔼 Start of the Season. The Volleyball team started its season at the Wildcat Invitational this past weekend. The Spartans had a close first match against Belmont, but fell 3-2. Zuzana Kosíková led the team with16 kills and 15 digs. She also led the team with 13 digs in the team’s 3-0 loss to Weber State on Saturday. The Spartans ended the weekend on a high note. SJSU beat San Francisco 3-0 on Sunday. Tatiana Robinson had 10 kills and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

First Stats. The football team took on No. 14 USC on Saturday in its season opener. The Spartans recorded 336 yards overall but fell 42-26.

Quarterback Luke Weaver completed 21-of-32 passes for ### yards and two touchdowns.
