🔼 Break Out The Brooms. Spartan softball swept the weekend! The Spartans defended their home field during the Silicon Valley Classic I as they went 4-0 over Seattle U, Cal Poly, Fordham, and Portland State. Reina Zermeno was a star this weekend — she hit .545 with one home run, one triple, five RBIs, six hits, and four runs scored. Aubrie Thomas also had a great weekend, hitting .500 with two doubles, five hits, and seven runs scored. Lacie Ham was huge in the circle, pitching 12.1 innings with a 0.57 ERA and two earned wins. The Spartans will be on a break until the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton on March 1st.

🔼  Hunting The Record. Spartan baseball player Hunter Dorraugh hit his first home run of the season yesterday, but more importantly, it was his 26th in his Spartan career. The 26th homer ties the all-time record! He finished the day 2-5 with the home run and a single, driving in two runs and scoring three. The Spartans will play at home today as they host Cal State Fullerton at 2:05 pm.

🔼 Still Undefeated. The women’s tennis team is off to a 4-0 start, thanks to a 4-3 win over Saint Mary’s on Friday. Irena Muradyan and Cheuk Ying Shek won their singles and doubles matches to lead the way. They won doubles together before winning their singles matches in straight sets. Carolina Millan stayed undefeated in singles with another No. 1 win. This is the best start to the season since 2021 when they made NCAA Team Championships.

🔼 Took Three. The gymnastics squad brought home three titles from their meet at Utah State! Lauren Macpherson won the bars title and her fifth all-around title of the year. She also led the Spartan beam team with a 9.825 score. Jaudai Lopes and Madison Kirsch tied with 9.825 scores to split the vault title.

👕 SPARTAN CAREER CLOSET

Spartan Athletics has partnered with Kaiser Permanente to host a professional clothing drive that supports the on-campus Spartan Career Closet. 

From now until the middle of March, fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used professional clothes at any Men’s or Women’s basketball game or gymnastics meet. Donation bins will be visible at the entrance to Provident Credit Union Event Center to collect your donations. 

An alternate method of donation is to purchase items directly from the Spartan Career closet’s Amazon wishlist. All purchases will be sent directly to the Spartan Career Closet.
