📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Reaching For Records. The Spartans won two events and set a new beam record at the inaugural Mountain West Gymnastics Championship! Mia Nelson was named the Mountain West Vault and Floor Champion, scoring a 9.825 on vault and a 9.900 on floor. The Spartans set a new record on beam with a 49.400 score. Marissa Ashton led the beam team with a career-best 9.925, while Lauren Macpherson and Jada Mazury scored 9.900’s. They finished the meet with a final score of 196.500. The 2024 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Selection Show will be live today at 9 am on NCAA.com.

🔼 We’re Even. The beach volleyball team went 3-3 at the Southland Midseason Tournament in New Orleans over the weekend. They won both games on Friday, sweeping Nicholls State and beating McNeese State 4-1. On Saturday, Alexandra Dale and Tessa Rogers went 2-0 as the Spartans beat Southern Louisiana and fell to Houston Christian. The two pairs of Jaida Ward and Jada Hall and Teila Allen and Cheyenne Rice got wins on the final day, but the Spartans lost to New Orleans and Boise State.

🔼 Sunday Sweep. The women’s tennis team took down Air Force yesterday in 4-0 fashion. This is the Spartans fourth 4-0 win of 2024. Irena Muradyan and Cheuk Ying Shek picked up their tenth doubles victory together. Jovana Babic, Rozalina Youseva, and Carolina Millan picked up big singles wins. They’ll host UC San Diego tomorrow at noon.

🔼 Tee Time. It’s tee time for the men’s golf team! They’re competing at the Oregon Duck Invitational today and tomorrow, starting at 8:30 am. They’ll be competing against No. 21 Illinois, No. 24 Oregon, Boise State, Cal Poly, and others. Carl Corpus leads the team with a stroke average of 69.20 this season. He’ll be included in the lineup along with Zubair Firdaus, Caleb Shelter, Xuan Luo, and Ivan Barahona while Kris Stiles plays as an individual.

🔼 All Offense. The Spartans hit the gas in game one of the baseball series at New Mexico. They took down the Lobos 16-13 after hitting three home runs in the ninth inning. Zach Griffin, Dalton Bowling, and Sebastian Orduno were responsible for the grand finale. Dalton also hit three doubles in the win. Robert Hamchuk hit a homer in the second inning and added a pair of singles. Theo Hardy was just a home run shy of the cycle. The Spartans went on to drop Saturday’s doubleheader. They’ll be back at Excite Ballpark tomorrow at 5:05 pm, hosting San Francisco.
