🔼 Right Place, Right Time. The track & field teams had a historic weekend at the Mountain West Indoor Championships over the weekend! Emilia Sjorstrand set the school and Mountain West record of 14.09m in the women’s triple jump, which also leads the nation. The men’s team recorded their highest-ever finish in third-place and the women’s team took fifth.

🔼 Records, Extra Innings, & Walk-Offs. The Spartans had an exciting home-opening weekend at Excite Ballpark! Saturday’s game against Seattle U went into extra innings after Hunter Dorraugh broke the all-time home run record to tie the game in the eighth. Nathan Cadena hit a double to score Hunter in the bottom of the 10th inning to get the win. On Sunday, the Spartan offense exploded as they won 8-6. Hunter hit yet another home run to start a seven-run fifth inning.

⚾️ The Spartans will continue their marathon as they play at Stanford today at 2 pm and host Santa Clara on Tuesday at 3:05 pm.

🔼 Divine Diving. She had already broken two school diving records going into the final day of the Mountain West Swim & Dive Championships, but Jenna Jagielski wasn’t done yet. She broke the platform dive record with a score of 286.45! Earlier in the week, she broke the 1 and 3-meter diving records.

🔼 Beaming Confidence. It was another record-setter for the Spartans gymnastics squad at UC Davis on Sunday. The team scored a season-high 196.600 to win the meet. Lauren Macpherson tied her own school record on the beam with a 9.950. The beam team set a new record with a 39.350 score. The Spartans also scored a season-high on vault with a 49.075, where Mia Nelson tied for first for her first career vault title. Jada Mazury won bars with a season-high 9.900

👕 SPARTAN CAREER CLOSET

Spartan Athletics has partnered with Kaiser Permanente to host a professional clothing drive that supports the on-campus Spartan Career Closet. 

From now until the middle of March, fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used professional clothes at any Men’s or Women’s basketball game or gymnastics meet. Donation bins will be visible at the entrance to Provident Credit Union Event Center to collect your donations. 

An alternate method of donation is to purchase items directly from the Spartan Career closet’s Amazon wishlist. All purchases will be sent directly to the Spartan Career Closet.
