📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Dominated The Pool. The men’s water polo team had a winning weekend at the Aggie Invitational. They started it off by taking down No. 4 UC Davis on Saturday in an 8-7 win. They went on to defeat UC Merced 20-3 and West Valley College 20-11. The Spartans finished the weekend with three wins and 48 goals scored! This may have been the best weekend since the program has been back on campus.

🔼  Rookie Moves. Spartan football’s Matthew Coleman earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors! His first career touchdown was a 75 yard punt return all the way to the house last weekend. He’s the first Spartan to score on a punt return since Tre Jenkins in 2018. Matthew also caught three passes for 20 yards. This is his first Mountain West award thanks to his first career punt return.

🔼 She’s All That. Spartan volleyball player Nayeli Ti’a earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week as well! She averaged 3.55 kills, 3.45 digs, and 4.18 points per set during the Campbell Invitational — where she also earned All-Tournament Team honors. She recorded her second double-double of the season over Campbell. This is the second straight week a Spartan has represented in the weekly conference awards, Teya Nguyen earned the honor last week.

🔼 Back In The Bay. The volleyball team is back in the Bay Area all week for four matches after being on the road. The Spartans won 3-1 at Saint Mary’s last night. Next, they’ll head to the University of San Francisco tomorrow for the USF Challenge. In the USF Challenge, they’ll play USF on Thursday at 4:00pm, CSUN on Friday at 3:00pm, and UTRGV on Saturday at 11:00am. Tomorrow’s match will be streaming on ESPN+.

🔼 Watch Out. Women’s golfer Kajsa Arwefjäll made the prestigious ANNIKA Award Watch List! She’s the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year, WGCA All-American, and is currently ranked 33rd in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. The award is given to the top female DI collegiate golfer — voted on by players, coaches, and members of the media.

The women’s golf team is currently playing in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Minnesota. They finished the first round tied for second at 11-under, while Lucia Lopez Ortega tied for second individually at 5-under. After two rounds, the Spartans sit in fourth-place at 10-under.
