📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Teya Time. San José volleyball player Teya Nguyen brought in Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors after her play at the Hornet Invitational. She notched her first collegiate double-double in the win over Portland with 13 assists and 11 digs. She also had 6 aces and 36 total assists over the weekend.

🏐 The Spartans went 2-1 at the Hornet Invitational, picking up a 4-set win against Portland and sweeping Cal State Fullerton.

🔼 Across The Pond. The men’s golf team got things started yesterday in not-your-typical fashion. The team is playing in the Pan-Pacific Collegiate Championship in Japan! The Spartans are in a field of 12 teams from different countries including Japan, Thailand, China, and Taiwan. Caleb Shetler, Kris Stiles, Zubair Firdaus, Carl Corpus, and Avinash Iyer make up the lineup.

🔼 This Was Personal. Two Spartans set lifetime personal records at the USF Invitational to start off the cross country season. Constance O’Neal ran a 22:37 in the 6k and Amelio Chio finished the 8k in 18:45. Freshman Amanda Chalburg led the women’s team with a 22:20 time in her first college meet.

🔜 Up Next: the Spartans will compete in the Pacific College Invitational on September 29.

🔼 Home Cookin’. The Spartans stay in CEFCU Stadium this weekend when they host Cal Poly at 1:00pm on Saturday. Last weekend, the Spartans hosted 20,337 fans. Let’s pack the stadium again! ⚔️ ONE BIG THING

Re-writing Records. The men’s soccer team hosted No. 4 Stanford on Monday and brought in a record crowd for the team at the Spartan Soccer Complex. There were 1,559 fans in attendance, the previous record was 1,028 in 2017 which also happened to be against Stanford. You can check out the highlights from the match here.
