📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Strong Start. Spartan baseball took down New Mexico 8-5 in their opening game of the Mountain West Tournament yesterday. Jesse Gutierrez threw a career-high seven innings with a career-high eight strikeouts in the win. Theo Hardy and Dalton Bowling both went 3-for-5 with an RBI each at the plate. The Spartans will play Air Force in the winners bracket at 6 pm tonight.

🔼 Fab Five. Five Spartans were named to the All-Mountain West baseball teams this week! Dalton Bowling, Hunter Dorraugh, and Robert Hamchuk received First Team honors. Ethan Ross and Micky Thompson landed on the Second Team.

🔼 Run The Weekend. The Spartan track & field teams are still competing at the NCAA West Preliminaries at Arkansas this weekend. Demaris Waters and Malachi Snow won their heats with PR times in the 110m hurdles and 100m dash. They’ll race again today in the quarterfinals. Jaden Smith will join them in today’s competition as he qualified for the 400m. On the women’s side, Emilia Sjostrand punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships in the long jump by topping her own SJSU all-time outdoor performance mark. She’ll compete in the triple jump tomorrow.

🔼  Spartan Legend. The Mountain West 25th Season Baseball Team was announced this week and former Spartan Charles McAdoo represents San José State. The All-American helped the team win their first Mountain West Championship in 2023. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 13th round of the 2023 MLB Draft. He currently plays for the High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers.
