📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Show Time. It’s finally time for Spartan gymnastics! They’ll start their season today at the Mean Girls Super 16 Gymnastics Championships in Las Vegas. The Spartans will compete in session one at 1 pm against No. 10 Denver, Illinois, and No. 21 Washington. The Spartans will be competing in the Mountain West for the first time. They were picked second in the inaugural Mountain West Preseason Coaches Poll.

This weekend will be the first chance to see MPSF Gymnast of the Year Lauren Macpherson this season. She was the 2023 MPSF All-Around Champion and competed at the NCAA Los Angeles Regional.

🔼 Our House. The men’s basketball team is back home tonight as they take on Boise State. The Spartans are 5-1 at home so far this season and they’re looking for their first conference win. Spartan alumni can get discounted tickets to the game by using code ALUMNI here! If you can’t make it out, you can tune in on FS1 and KTRB. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm in the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

🔼 LoVett Loves To Score. Freshman women’s basketball player Jyah LoVett scored a career-high 26 points in her Mountain West debut against Fresno State on Wednesday. She went 11-of-18 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range. She also added two steals and two rebounds. Amhyia Moreland grabbed her second double-double of her career with 18 points and 11 boards. The Spartans are back in action tomorrow at Utah State at 12 pm. You can tune in on the Mountain West Network.

⚔️ ONE BIG THING

San José State men’s soccer player Isaac Lomeli was drafted 30th overall in the Major Arena Soccer League College Draft! The Empire Strykers were the lucky team to get Isaac. He was the fourth player chosen in the third round. Isaac scored two goals and had four assists in 34 matches as a Spartan. He helped the team to back-to-back WAC Tournament appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2022. The Strykers play in Ontario, California and are currently in the middle of the 2023-24 season.
