Good morning Spartan Fans! Spartan gymnastics came in at No. 3 nationally in team GPA! A total of 16 Spartans were named Scholastic All-Americans and three recorded 4.0 GPAs.

🔼 Start Somewhere. The women’s soccer team got the season officially started last night! The Spartans hosted No. 22 Santa Clara and battled the entire first half. The Broncos had a one-goal advantage over the Spartans after 45 minutes. Momentum changed in the second half and the Broncos took the match, 4-0. San José State finished the game with five saves and three shots on goal.

⚽️ Up next, the Spartans will play Saint Mary’s on Sunday at noon.

🔼 Big Four. The Spartans landed four on the 2024 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year watch list! Marist Talavoi and Soane Toia make the watch list for the second year, while Taniela Latu and Quincy Likio make their first appearance. Five finalists will be announced on December 3.

🔼 Let’s Go, Velo. Men’s golf alum Kevin Velo has qualified for the PGA Tour! With five events left on the Korn Ferry Tour, he’s in ninth-place and cannot fall outside of the top 30. He will join fellow Spartan alum Mark Hubbard on the 2025 tour.

🔼 Simply The Best. Women’s golf graduate Kajsa Arwefjäll is one of two Mountain West nominees for the 2024 NCAA Woman of the Year Award! She finished her five-year Spartan career with two Second-Team All-America honors and an individual Mountain West title. She was also named Mountain West Player of the Year twice.

⛳️ SJSU BASEBALL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 2024 golf tournament and banquet to support San Jose State Baseball will take place October 18th and once again be held at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose. This is the largest fundraiser for the baseball program, and we need your help to make this event a success. Following golf will be the dinner banquet and Legends of Spartan Baseball induction ceremony where legendary Coach Sam Piraro will be honored as the sole inductee. Separate tickets are available for the banquet. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
