Good morning! The Spartans are still swinging away at NCAA Regionals. Follow along with women’s golf coach Dana Dormann as the team prepped for the regional:

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Finish Strong. The women’s golf team is heading into the final round of the NCAA Cle Elum Regional tied for fifth-place. They’re four shots behind fourth-place Arizona State. Kajsa Arwefjäll is tied for seventh individually at even-par. The top-five teams and top individual not on an advancing team will move on to the NCAA Championships. The final round will begin today at 9 am.

🔼 Home Run King Mashes. The all-time Spartan home run leader Hunter Dorraugh did it again, hitting his 14th home run of the season against San Francisco. He now has 39 home runs as a Spartan and is one home run shy of tying his own single-season home run record. Robert Hamchuk extended his hitting streak to a career-best 13 games. The Spartans eventually fell, 9-4.

🔼  Smooth Sailing. Current Spartan track & field runner Demaris Waters was named to the Mountain West 25th Season Men’s Track & Field Team! He sits at No. 2 on the San José State all-time outdoor and Mountain West all-time performance list in the men’s 110m hurdles with a 13.40 time. That time has him ranked ninth in the NCAA this outdoor season. He took second-place in the 60m hurdles at the 2024 Mountain West Indoor Championships. In 2023, he took home that 60m hurdles title and the 110m hurdles title at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships.

🔼  Pitcher Perfect. Former Spartan softball pitcher Jenessa Ullegue was named to the Mountain West 25th Season Softball Team. She tallied a 57-33 record with a 2.72 ERA over 528 innings at San José State from 2019-23. She pitched 41 complete games throughout her career. She’s tied for fourth with 388 strikeouts on the SJSU all-time list. Jenessa picked up multiple accolades including 2019 Mountain West Pitcher of the Year, First Team NFCA DI All-Pacific Region, First Team All-Mountain West, and All-Mountain West Tournament Team.
