📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Sweepin’ Weekend. The 12th-ranked men’s water polo team dominated at the Julian Fraser Memorial. They won all three of their matches to sweep the weekend. They started the weekend with a 16-7 win over Fresno Pacific. On Saturday, the squeezed by Pomona-Pitzer, 13-11. They finished the weekend on Sunday with a nail-biting 17-16 overtime win over No. 13 Harvard! They defeated Harvard for the second time this season. The Spartans have won seven of their last eight games.
🔼 Mission Accomplished. The women’s soccer team picked up their first win of the season yesterday! They defeated Air Force, 1-0. Bella Flocchini scored her third goal of the season to get the win. She’s the team’s leading goal-scorer. Evan House assisted on the goal for her first this season. Shayla Sugai had four saves in goal. They’ll return home for senior night on Thursday when they host Fresno State.
🔼 Our Courts. The tennis team hosted the SJSU Hidden Duals over the weekend and completely dominated. The other teams competing were Santa Clara and UC Davis. Duru Durgun, Carla Urchoeguia, Soledad Fayos Capilla, and Emma Fantousis won their singles and doubles matches on day one. The Spartans completed a clean sweep in doubles on day two. Each player listed above, plus Nahjime Dho won each of their singles and doubles matches. They wrapped things up on Sunday with Cheuk Ying Shek, Dho, Fantousis, and Fayos Capilla winning their matches.
🔼 Time For A Bye. The Spartans left the Valley Trophy in Fresno as they fell 33-10 on Saturday. Nick Nash was the heart of the offense with 91 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Walker Eget had 202 passing yards and a touchdown. The Spartans will have a bye week before going to Oregon State.
