🔼 Sneak Peek. With the season opener just over a week away, the SJSU women’s hoops squad gave fans a little sneak peek into what’s to come this year for the Spartans.
Amira Brown recorded a double-double and four Spartans scored in double figures to lead SJSU to a 91-84 defeat of Jessup in exhibition action on Wednesday night.
Brown was one of two Spartans to lead the team in scoring with 21 points. Brown led the rebounding effort as well with 11 boards, six offensive and five defensive.
Rylei Waugh came off the bench to score 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, while Maya Anderson (16) and Allie Cummins (13) rounded out the double-figure scoring.
🔼 New Beginnings. Earlier this week, SJSU announced that its men’s soccer program will compete in the Mountain West Conference beginning with the 2026–27 academic year.
The move comes as part of the Mountain West’s expansion to sponsor men’s soccer, marking a significant milestone in the conference’s continued commitment to broad-based athletic excellence.
The Mountain West becomes the first NCAA Division I conference to add men’s soccer since the Ohio Valley Conference in 2023 and the Sun Belt Conference’s reinstatement in 2022.
