🔼 Making History. Spartan wide receiver Nick Nash has been named a finalist for the 2024 Biletnikoff Award! He becomes the first Spartan to become a finalist for the honor. He also becomes the first finalist from the Mountain West since 2017. Nash leads the nation in touchdown receptions, receptions, and receptions per game. Additionally, he has thrown for two touchdowns this season.
🔼 Double The Wins. The men’s basketball team started their time at the Ball Dawgs Classic on a high note! They defeated UTEP 71-68 on Monday. Will McClendon scored a career-high 22 points in the win. Josh Uduje led the Spartans with 23 points.
The Spartans turned around to play UNCG last night in their second game of the tournament. San José State got the 69-64 win behind Donavan Yap’s 14 points. He added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
🔜 They’ll play their third game in three days tonight at 7 p.m. against Long Beach State. Fans can stream the matchup on FloCollege.
🔼 Two Of The Best. Spartan volleyball’s Blaire Fleming and Brooke Slusser received honorable mention All-Mountain West honors. Fleming led the team in kills in conference play with 194 and recorded five double-doubles in conference play. Slusser averaged 6.96 assists per set in Mountain West play. Spartan volleyball will play in the Mountain West Tournament on Friday.
🔼 Lead The Way. Women’s basketball’s Hennie Van Schaik was named the Mountain West Player of the Week! She had two double-digit scoring games last week, plus a double-double. She averaged 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.
🦃 The Spartans will play UNC Wilmington at the Puerto Rico Clásico tomorrow at 1 p.m.
