📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Took Two. Spartan baseball started the season with a series win! They took two from Louisiana on the road after dropping game one. The Spartans beat the Ragin’ Cajuns 8-3 on Saturday. Alex Fernandes scored four runs and went 3-4 at the plate. He showed up and showed out again on Sunday, going 3-4 again with four RBIs and two runs. The Spartans won 12-4.

🔼 Break Out The Booms. Softball went sweeping! They won all five of their games in the Silicon Valley Classic I. On Friday, they beat Illinois-Chicago 9-2 and UC San Diego 7-0. They turned around to beat Cal Poly twice on Saturday. They beat UC San Diego again on Sunday, winning 8-1. The Spartans recorded 47 hits throughout the weekend.

🔼  Sweep Dreams. The 19th-ranked women’s water polo team also swept the weekend at the Bronco Invitational! They beat four ranked teams - No. 22 CSUN, No. 25 Brown, No. 20 Pacific, and No. 23 Marist. The Spartans are now on a six-game winning streak.

🔼 New, New. The track & field team had a successful weekend at the Don Kirby Invitational! Christopher Malone set a school record in the men’s 800m with a 1:52.85 time. Simone Johnson won the women’s triple jump with a personal best mark of 13.78m. Sky Hagan placed second in the women’s 60m hurdles final.

🔼  Another One. The gymnastics team scored 194.300 at Boise State on Friday. Devyn Valuch won her second all-around title of the season with a career-high 38.975. The beam team had the best apparatus score of the night with a 48.900.
