🔼 Earned It. Record-setting two-sport Spartan student-athlete Dr. Harry Edwards will be inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame. He played basketball and track & field, setting records in the discus. He founded the Olympic Project for Human Rights, launched the Institute for the Study of Sport, Society & Social Change, and authored four books.

🔼 Something Special. Spartan gymnast Marissa Ashton was named the Mountain West Beam Specialist of the Week! She led the Spartan beam team with a season-high 9.900 to win her first career beam title. The Spartans will host Utah State on Sunday.

🔼  Couldn’t Catch ‘Em. The men’s basketball team fell to UNLV 77-71 at home last night. Josh Uduje led all scorers with 27 points, adding seven rebounds. Latrell Davis scored 16 points and Jermaine Washington scored 10. The Spartans will play at Colorado State next week.

🔼 Spartan’s Spark. The 18th-ranked women’s water polo team dominated Cal State Monterey Bay 22-8 on Sunday. Darcy Spark led the team with five goals, while goalie Tatianna Raffin made 13 saves and two steals. The Spartans have won seven-straight matches.

🔼  Fell Short. Spartan baseball fell to Santa Clara 4-3 yesterday. Luca Staiano struck out five batters in his DI career-best 4.0 innings pitched. Rocco Caballero had two hits and an RBI. The Spartans will play three games against USF this weekend
