📈 STOCK UP

🔼  We’re In. The men’s basketball season isn’t done yet! They earned an NIT bid for the first time since 1981. They secured the No. 4 seed in the San Francisco Region and will host Loyola Chicago on Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2. This is the first Spartan men’s basketball postseason game very held at the PCUEC.

🔼 All-American Girls. Two Spartans earned All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships! Emilia Sjostrand earned second-team All-American in the women’s long jump and the triple jump. Simone Johnson earned first-team All-American honors in the women’s triple jump after placing eighth. Sjostrand was behind her in ninth.

🔼  Double The Fun. Spartan tennis won both of their matches over the weekend, improving to 7-0 at home! They defeated Utah State on Friday, 4-1. No. 111 Cheuk Ying Shek and Emma Fantousis lost no sets through singles and doubles. They turned around to defeat Boise State 4-2 on Sunday.

🔼 Sunday In The Sand. The beach volleyball team defeated Santa Clara 3-2 at the Mustang Roundup on Sunday. Sabrina Moore and Kiara Edwards won the deciding set in their match to give the Spartans the win. They’ll play two Southland Conference duals tomorrow, playing Boise State at 9 a.m. and Houston Christian at 1 p.m.

🔼  Sunday Funday. Spartan baseball got the 10-2 win over San Diego State on Sunday! Alex Fernandes tallied two RBIs and three runs to lead the way. Win Scott pitched six innings, allowing just two runs and striking out eight. Tyler Albanese came in relief and shut down the opposing offense, striking out six in three scoreless innings.

🔼 Student-Athletes. There were 18 Spartans from the men’s water polo team honored as national All-Academic award winners by the ACWPC! To qualify, student-athletes need a 3.2 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
