🔼 Upset Season. The 18th-ranked women’s water polo team upset No. 7 Arizona State on the road! They defeated the Sun Devils 13-12 thanks to a Bridget Cranley goal with 34 seconds remaining. She recorded a hat trick as she scored the first and last goals, plus another in the fourth quarter. Darcy Spark and Rose Jensen each had four goals in the win. It was the Spartans’ first MPSF win of the season.

🔼  Soarin’, Flyin’. The tennis team continued their tear with two more wins on the road over the weekend! They defeated Air Force 4-3 on Friday as Olaya Bances Iglesias and Soledad Fayos Capilla both won their singles matches over tie-breaker sets. They went on to New Mexico to sweep the Lobos 4-0. Sunday was highlighted by freshmen Fayos Capilla and Emma Fantousis as they didn’t lose a set across singles and doubles.

🔼  Took One. Spartan baseball’s weekend was highlighted by a 2-1 win over Fresno State on Saturday. Kyle Calzadiaz struck out a career-high six batters as he threw 6.1 shutout innings. The two Spartan runs came from RBI singles by Alex Fernandes and Antonio Nanez. The Spartans fell 4-2 on Sunday in a late-inning battle. They’ll play at Pacific tomorrow at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

🔼 Good Guys. The men’s golf team finished The Goodwin in 21st amongst a highly competitive field, including 13 nationally ranked teams. Keshav “KC” Mungali led the team with five birdies in the final round, tying for 67th. Ivan Barahona also tied for 67th. Up next, the Spartans will host the 78th Western Intercollegiate presented by Titleist, April 14-16.
