🔼 Another One. A Spartan women’s golfer has won the Mountain West Individual Championship for the second-straight year! Lucia Lopez Ortega was crowned individual champion, winning by four strokes at 5-under. She becomes the third individual Mountain West Champion from SJSU in the last four seasons. The Spartans tied for first with UNLV, but fell to the Rebels in a two-hole playoff. Moa Anderson finished in seventh-place with teammate Nicola Kaminski in eighth.

The Spartans will learn their NCAA Regional fate on Wednesday.

🔼  Regular Season Wrap. Spartan tennis fell to Fresno State 4-2 in yesterday’s regular season finale. Olaya Bances Iglesias and Cheuk Ying Shek won in straight sets in singles to lead the Spartans. They’ll travel to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Championships as the No. 6 seed.

🔼 Fell Short. Spartan baseball fell to San Diego State 5-2 last night. Rocco Caballero went 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base. He leads the team with 12 doubles. The series will continue tonight at 6:05 p.m. at Excite Ballpark.

🔼 Vegas, Baby. Spartan softball is on the road this weekend. They’ll play two at UNLV, beginning at 3 p.m. today. The series will conclude tomorrow at noon. The Spartans are coming off a 2-2 week with a win over Cal and Nevada.

🔼  Hall Of Famer. New Spartan women’s soccer coach Sonia Curvelo was inducted into Mississippi Valley State University’s Athletic Hall of Fame! Curvelo, a founding member of MVSU’s women’s soccer program, led the team to its first SWAC Championship and NCAA tournament appearance in 2005. She earned SWAC Tournament MVP honors and made history by assisting the first goal and scoring the game-winner in the championship.
