📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Jumping To Victory. Women’s track & field star Emilia Sjostrand won gold in the women’s triple jump at the Mountain West Outdoor Championship! Sjostrand also earned silver in the long jump, while Katharina Graman took gold. Her win earned her Women’s Field Performer of the Meet honors. Cameron Tarver won the men’s 200m, while Christopher Coats won the 400m. The Spartans finished the meet with 13 total medals — four gold, five silver, four bronze. Qualifying Spartans will move on to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary Rounds.
🔼 Not Done Yet. Spartan baseball defeated Nevada 10-2 on Saturday to clinch a spot in the Mountain West Tournament! Kyle Calzadiaz allowed just one run through eight innings. Jake McCoy went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run to lead the team. Zach Tallerman and Jeriah Lewis also added home runs.
The Spartans earned the No. 6 seed in the Mountain West Tournament and will play No. 3-seed New Mexico on Wednesday at 1:05 p.m.
🔼 New Addition. Spartan women’s basketball has signed Amelie Sitterud, a 6’1 guard transfer from LMU.
“Amelie is a true competitor and someone who will fit in very well here at San José State because of her ability to stretch the floor. I’m excited to have Amelie as a Spartan.”
