⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 2️⃣5️⃣ DAYS

That’s right, we are just 2️⃣5️⃣ days away from the return of Spartan football!

This fall, there will be plenty of new faces wearing the SJSU uniform on the gridiron.

One of those new faces will be #2️⃣5️⃣, Zane Carter.

Carter arrives at SJSU after a standout two seasons at Ventura College, where he earned All-American accolades and piled up 164 tackles, seven INTs and two pick-sixes.

The linebacker is a Ventura, Calif. native and was a four-sport standout at Buena High School.

🔼 We Talkin’ Bout Practice. Well, that escalated quickly.

From the quiet summer months to jam-packed action, campus came alive over the past few days as Spartan squads are full force into training camp preparing for the start of the upcoming 2025-26 athletic calendar.

This week, men’s soccer and volleyball will join the fun and return to their practice fields.

Over the weekend, San José State Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Charles Ryan announced the addition of Olympic gold medalist David Verburg as the new assistant coach for the Spartans' cross country and track & field programs.

Verburg returns to San José State after serving as the sprints and hurdles coach at New Mexico State during the 2024-25 season. He previously helped guide the Spartans to a standout 2023-24 campaign that included a third-place finish at the Mountain West Men’s Championships, setting the stage for his homecoming to the program.

Get ready for an exciting day of golf at Cinnabar Hills Golf Course in support of Spartan student-athletes. Enjoy the unique opportunity to mingle with San Jose State athletes and coaches throughout the event.
