📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Bearin’ Down. For the first time since 2001, the SJSU volleyball team picked up a win over in-state rival, California.

The Spartans rolled past the Bears, 3-0, behind Naima Foster’s team-leading 10th kills, including the final two points of the match.

Fatimah Hall recorded 18 assists and nine digs, while Clara Christensen had nine assists and five digs. Nazare Judd led the team with 13 digs.

🔼 Toe-To-Toe. The sixth-ranked Spartans men’s water polo went toe-to-toe with #3 Cal, but dropped a tough 12-10 decision to the Bears on Sunday afternoon.

Samu Biros tallied a game-high four goals, while Sam Keightley added a hat trick for SJSU.

The Spartans trailed by two after the first quarter but rallied in the second to even the score at 4-4. Biros not only paced the offense but also anchored the defense, adding a team-high two blocks.

🔼 Bay Battlin’. The SJSU women’s tennis team opened its fall season with a trip up north for the Battle in the Bay.

Leading the action for the Spartans was the duo of Soledad Fayos Capilla and Emma Fantousis, who reached the C-Finals at the event.

Saturday’s showdown with Idaho marks the 25th time that the Spartans have squared off with Idaho, but the first since SJSU’s 42-13 road win over the Vandals in 2012.
