🔼 Futbol Nights. No place better to be tonight than the Spartan Soccer Complex as the SJSU men’s soccer team is set to battle its seventh in-state opponent of the season when it welcomes #3 Stanford to town for a Wednesday night showdown.

The Spartans, who are 4-1-1, will take the field with the reigning WAC Defensive Player of the Week after Gilberto Rivera earned the distinction on Tuesday.

Rivera was the third SJSU player honored this season after he led the Spartans’ defensive effort against CSUN last Thursday.

🔼 Visit From The Vandals. For the fifth straight season, the SJSU football squad will be featured on NBC Sports Bay area, this time it will be Saturday afternoon’s 2 p.m. kickoff with the Idaho Vandals.

Entering Saturday’s matchup, SJSU has won four of its past five meetings with the Vandals.

🏈 Previewing The Matchup

🔼 Among the Leaders. Junior Moa Andersson (-6) was consistent all week long at the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Club, earning an individual second place finish to lead the SJSU women’s golf squad at the event.

Andersson’s teammate Kleopatra Kozakiewicz finished three shots back of Andersson in third place at 3-under.

As a team, the Spartans finished third in the 16-team field, just three shots back of Oregon State for second place.

The Spartans have started the 2025 campaign by shutting out four of its first six opponents.

When was the last time SJSU men’s soccer started a season with at least four shutouts in the first six matches?
