🔼 Buzzer Beater. Jabari Bates (131 rushing) and Danny Scudero (130 receiving) led the offensive attack, but it was the leg of Denis Lynch that proved to be the difference as the SJSU football squad picked up their first win of the year with a 31-28 defeat of Idaho on Saturday afternoon.
With the game knotted at 28-28, the Spartans orchestrated an eight-play, 31-yard drive in the final minutes, capped by a 48-yard field goal from Lynch with eight seconds remaining to secure the victory.
San José State totaled 420 yards of offense, including 198 on the ground. Through the air, Walker Eget finished 13-of-21 for 222 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, linebacker Jalen Apalit-Williams anchored the Spartans with a team-high nine tackles and a fumble recovery, while Vili Taufatofua delivered the team’s lone sack.
🔼 Road Warriors. Life on the road is usually not easy.
The SJSU men’s soccer team is bucking that trend as the Spartans improved to 4-0 on the road after a thrilling Sunday evening victory at Pacific.
Angel Iniguez and Jordi Tortell Daly both scored their first goals of the season in the second half to lead SJSU to a 2-0 victory over the Tigers.
The Spartans’ defense, anchored by goalkeeper Edgar Guerra, held firm all night long. Guerra made four saves to record his fifth win and fifth clean sheet of the campaign.
🔼 New Season Loading. Mountain West play is on the horizon for SJSU volleyball squad and they will head that way with momentum as the Spartans finished their time at the USF Challenge with a 2-1 record after a 3-1 victory over San Francisco.
Morgan Graves (13 kills, 14 digs) and Fatimah Hall (24 assists, 15 digs) recorded double-doubles to lead the way, while Lolo Fonua racked up a team-high 14 kills.

🔼 Sunday Funday. For the fourth straight season, former SJSU standout Josh Oliver has found the endzone.
In the Vikings’ dominant 48-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, Oliver hauled in a 12-yard TD pass from Carson Wentz for his first TD of the season and seventh of his NFL career.

In the second quarter of Saturday’s win over Idaho, Jabari Bates broke through for an 87-yard TD run.
It’s the longest rush for the Spartans since ______________?
