🔼 Can’t Touch This. Spartan volleyball remains undefeated coming out of the weekend! They swept Saint Mary’s on Saturday to improve their record to 8-0. Nayeli Ti’a led the team with 17 kills and three aces in the win. Brooke Slusser earned her second double-double of the season with 30 assists and 15 digs. They’ll play on Block Party Tuesday at Fresno State at 6 p.m.
🔼 Fought Till The End. Spartan football took Washington State to double overtime on Friday night. Emmett Brown returned to his former university to throw for a career-high 375 yards and four touchdowns; he also ran one in. He leads the conference in passing yards and touchdowns. Floyd Chalk IV led the team with 94 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Nick Nash continued to prove that he leads the nation, he had 152 receiving yards with two touchdowns. The Spartans eventually fell, 54-52.
🔼 Spartans On Top. The ninth-ranked men’s water polo team had some overtime dramatics of their own this weekend. They defeated No. 18 Santa Clara 11-10 in triple overtime! Jamie Steingraf led the team with five goals, including the game-winner with just one second left on the clock. The Spartans improve to 4-1 and 1-0 in WCC play.
🔼 Spartans In Second. The men’s golf team sits in second-place after two rounds of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs. Keshav Mungali sits in third individually after shooting 5-under yesterday. The tournament will conclude today after the final round.
🔼 It’s A Draw. The men’s soccer team finished Friday’s match against Saint Mary’s in a 0-0 draw. Jordi Tortell Daly recorded four shots to lead the Spartans. SJSU totaled 18 shots, eight on goal for season highs. They’ll play at San Francisco tonight at 7 p.m.
