🔼 Battle In The Bay. After last week’s thriller at home, SJSU football heads to Stanford for the Bill Walsh Legacy Game, airing on the ACC Network.

The Spartans aim for their second straight win in the series after last year’s 34–31 home victory. A win would also mark SJSU’s first back-to-back victories over Stanford since a three-game streak from 1998–2000—all at Stanford—and their first road win in the rivalry since a 40–27 triumph on Sept. 8, 2000.

SJSU played Stanford starting quarterback Ben Gulbranson last season when he played at Oregon State (11/9/24). The Spartans won that contest, 24-13.

The Spartans closed with their best team round of the tournament at 13-under, finishing in a tie for fourth at 854 (-10).

Iyer’s stellar round included seven birdies and an eagle, giving him a 209 (-7) for the tournament and a career-low finish. His 63 is the lowest round by a Spartan since Zubair Firdaus carded a 61 en route to winning the Alister MacKenzie Invitational last season (Oct. 7-8, 2024). Firdaus also posted a 63 in that event.
