🔼 Road Warriors. Life on the road isn’t supposed to look this easy.
The SJSU men’s soccer team used a dominant performance on Saturday night to remain unbeaten on the road with a 3-0 victory over UC San Diego.
Gilberto Rivera, Neo Ruiz and Angel Iniguez all found the back of the net to lead the offensive attack for the Spartans.
Defensively, goalkeeper Edgar Guerra earned his sixth clean sheet of the campaign, needing just one save to preserve the shutout.
🔼 Slingin’ It. SJSU quarterback Walker Eget was in elementary school the last time a Spartan had a performance like he did this past Saturday.
Eget completed 36-of-58 passes for a career-high 473 yards and three touchdowns and three Spartan wide receivers, Leland Smith, Danny Scudero and Kyri Shoels, surpassed 100 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough as the SJSU football team dropped a hard-fought 30-29 decision to Stanford in the Bill Walsh Legacy Game.
Defensively, San José State recorded four sacks and six tackles for loss. Jaylen Thomas led the Spartans with nine tackles and three pass breakups.
🔼 Draw It Up. JUCO transfer Daisy Torres picked a great time for her first goal as a Spartan, helping the SJSU women’s soccer team earn a point on the road with a 1-1 draw at Nevada on Sunday.
Paige Fry continued her outstanding season in goal with six saves on the day as the Spartans earned their first point against the Wolfpack since 2020.
