🔼 Sparty Party. The Spartans are taking over Los Angeles to kick off the football season against USC. One Spartan Nation and the SJSU Alumni Association are hosting an alumni regional reception at Bonaventure Brewing Co. on Friday, August 25. On Saturday, One Spartan Nation is hosting a pregame tailgate on the lawn of the California African American Museum at USC from 1:30-4:30. Click here to find out more information.

🔼 Count ‘Em Down. There are Kairee Robinson days until kickoff — 32! No. 32 is a preseason favorite, landing on the Second Team Preseason Athlon Sports All-Mountain West Offense and Third Team Phil Steele’s 2023 Preseason Mountain West Team. Last season, he ran for a career-high 752 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. He has started in games for the Spartans since his freshman season in 2019 and he’s now going into his fifth year.

🔼 Do Your Thing, 21. For the 21st semester in-a-row, the Spartans women’s swimming and diving team has been named a Scholar All-America team by the CSCAA for the spring. The Spartans received the honor for the teams grade point average.

Clean Up Crew. San José State has partnered with Mayor Matt Mahan to clean up and beautify the city on August 5 between 9:00am and 11:00am. The Spartan football team will be taking part and you can join them! Click here to RSVP. There are clean ups every week in different neighborhoods.

The Spartans went 7-1 in the 2020 season and went to the Arizona Bowl. Coach Brennan was named a finalist for the 2020 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award and won the Lombardi Foundation’s College Coach of the Year along with Mountain West Coach of the Year.
