📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Spartans Soared. The gymnastics squad took the win from Air Force yesterday, 195.725-193.500. Jada Mazury led the floor with a 9.900 and Lauren Macpherson matched that score on bars. Lauren won bars, beam, and all-around titles. Madison Kirsch took the vault title with a 9.875. The Spartans have a short week, as they’ll host UC Davis on Friday at 7 pm!

🔼 Record Setters. The swim team defeated Fresno State for the first time since 2014! Reka Kovacs broke a pool record and won the 500-yard freestyle to lead the way. She also won the 200-yard butterfly. Ela Freiman also broke a pool record with a 4:18.60 time to win the 400-yard individual medley. The wins didn’t stop there — Ellie Shorten won the 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes. Reagan Mathieson won the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles, while Dalton Sickon won the 50-yard freestyle. The Spartans were dominant all around.

• Greg Burns, Cornerbacks Coach - 20+ years as a defensive backs coach, UCLA defensive analyst (2021-24).

• John Estes, Offensive Line Coach - Houston Roughnecks running backs coach (XFL, 2022-23).

• Bojay Filimoeatu, Inside LB Coach/Run Game Coordinator - San Diego State defensive line coach (2023), former Broyles Award nominee.

• Josh Irvin, Outside LB Coach - Former San José State grad assistant, UCLA recruiting analyst (2022-24).

• Mike Judge, Tight Ends Coach/Run Game Coordinator - Miami Dolphins offensive assistant since 2019.

• Al Lapuaho, Defensive Line Coach - Nevada defensive line and assistant coach (2022-23).

• Beca Perez, Director of Player Personnel - Stanford Assistant Director of Recruiting (2023).

• Billy Ray Stutzmann, Offensive Analyst - Utah Tech assistant coach (2022-23).

• Marcus Thomas, Running Backs Coach - Navy Director of Player Personnel and assistant coach (2022-23).

• Nu’u Tafisi, Head Coach of Athletic Performance - UCLA Assistant Performance Coach (2023).

• Antonio Leonard, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach - Grambling State Director of Sports Performance (2022-23).

👕 SPARTAN CAREER CLOSET

Spartan Athletics has partnered with Kaiser Permanente to host a professional clothing drive that supports the on-campus Spartan Career Closet. 

From now until the middle of March, fans are encouraged to donate new or gently used professional clothes at any Men’s or Women’s basketball game or gymnastics meet. Donation bins will be visible at the entrance to Provident Credit Union Event Center to collect your donations. 

An alternate method of donation is to purchase items directly from the Spartan Career closet’s Amazon wishlist. All purchases will be sent directly to the Spartan Career Closet.
