📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Spring Cleaning. Spring has arrived and the Spartans cleaned house! The baseball team swept the three-game series against San Diego State over the weekend. The offense exploded in Friday’s 17-3 win. Sebastian Orduno and Matt Spear hit home runs, while Nolan George struck out a career-high seven batters in relief. The fire power continued on Saturday in another 17-3 win. Robert Hamchuk and Nathan Cadena were the Spartans to hit out-of-the-park that day. Micky Thompson tied his career-high with eight strikeouts. They finished the sweep on Sunday with a 7-4 win. The Spartans have outscored their opponents 52-18 in their four-game winning streak.

🔼 Finished Strong. Gymnasts Lauren Macpherson, Jada Mazury, and Katherine Weyhmiller represented the Spartans well at the NCAA Berkeley Regional on Friday. Lauren finished seventh in the all-around, fourth on bars, and seventh on vault. Her all-around score of 39.450 ties for the sixth-best in school history. Jada finished tied for fourth on floor with a 9.925 score. Katherine tied for ninth on beam with a 9.875.

🔼  Teamwork Makes The Dream Work. The Spartans had some great performances on the track at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational over the weekend. The women’s 4×100 relay team of Selena Arjona-Alcazar, Eve Divinity, Morgan Little, and Alyssa Bean took first-place in the event. The women’s 4×400 relay squad took second-place. The men’s 4×400 team of Zaire Waring, Jaden Smith, Harry Overstreet, and Jeremiah Walker placed third.

🔼 Close Us Out. The women’s golf team is closing out the regular season at the Chevron Silverado Showdown today through Wednesday. The Spartan lineup includes Kajsa Arwefjäll, Lucia Lopez Ortega, Louisa Carlbom, and Darae Chung. Rebecca Gyllner is playing as an individual. Kajsa returns from Augusta, where she finished the Augusta National Women’s Amateur tied for 26th.

🔼 Spartan Split. The women’s tennis team picked up another conference win on Friday, defeating Colorado State 4-3. Duru Durgun clinched the match point in a singles rally. Carolina Millan and Rozalina Youseva also won their singles matches. They fell at Wyoming on Sunday, but took the doubles point for the fourth-straight match thanks to Duru and Rozalina. They’ll take on UNLV at home on Friday.
