📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Spring Fling. The Spartans hosted their spring football game over the weekend in front of 7,401 excited fans. Walker Eget and Emmett Brown are neck-to-neck in the quarterback competition according to Coach Niumatalolo. After the game, they hosted the annual Kids Camp where almost 200 kids were involved.

🔼  Fourth-Place Finish. The men’s golf team finished the Mountain West Championship in fourth-place at 2-under. It was their best ever finish in the championship. Caleb Shelter, Xuan Luo, and Zubair Firdaus all tied for 13th individually. They’ll wait and see if they’ll receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday.

🔼 Top Of The Track. The Spartan men and women had a successful weekend at the Fresno State Invitational. Both 400m relay groups took first-place in their races. Malachi Snow went on to win the men’s 100m dash with Cameron Tarver behind him in third. Malachi also won the 200m and Cameron placed second. Sky Hagan won the women’s 100m hurdles and Demaris Waters won the men’s. The men’s 1600 relay won their event as well. Emma Sjostrand took the triple jump title. It was a winning weekend all around!

🔼 Big Bounce Back. Spartan baseball bounced back on Saturday and Sunday after dropping game one to UNLV. They evened the series on Saturday with an 8-7 win. Sebastian Orduno was a double short of the cycle after hitting the go-ahead home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Corey Sanchez earned the win out of the pen after limiting the Rebels to one hit. The momentum stayed high on Sunday as the Spartans won, 5-1. Ethan Ross struck out seven batters in seven innings. Matt Spear hit a two-run homer to improve to eight home runs this month. The Spartans are winners of six of their last seven games.

🔼 Senior Celebration. Five Spartan softball seniors were honored on Sunday for Senior DayAshley Rico, Makenzie Hutchinson, Malia Luna, Korie Thomas, and Adrianna Noriega. Their families threw out the first pitches of the day, check it out! Ashley celebrated by hitting her second home run of the season. The Spartans ultimately fell to UNLV, 5-2.

🔼 That’s A Wrap. The women’s water polo team finished their season at the MPSF Championships in Indiana. They fell to No. 2 California in the first round of the tournament, 15-10. They went on to play No. 6 Indiana in the second round and barely lost, 10-9. Darcy Spark came out on fire and scored the first goal less than a minute into the first quarter. Goalkeeper Grace Smith recorded a whopping 10 saves.
