📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Better Than The Rest. Spartan goalkeeper David Sweeney was voted the 2023 WAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year! The men’s soccer team was picked to finish second in the 2023 WAC Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Poll after finishing last season as runner-up. David, Joel Garcia, Beau Leroux, and Kasper Poulsgaard were named to the Preseason All-WAC Team.

The guys have an exhibition game on Saturday at 2:00pm, hosting Cal Poly before getting the regular season started next week.

🔼  Triple Take. Three Spartans were named to the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year watch list. The award goes to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity — and Chevan Cordeiro, Marist Talavou, and Soane Toia made the list.

🔼 Strike Gold. San José State Casino Night is tonight at 7:00pm at the Glass House! Soccer player Jennah Loggins and golfer Kris Stiles will be giving testimonials. There will also be casino games, food, a bar, and live and silent auctions. All proceeds from the event will go directly to support athletic scholarships for Spartan student-athletes.
