🔼 Take A Bow. San José State alum Pat Hughes accepted the highest honor in baseball broadcasting over the weekend at the National Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The Chicago Cubs radio announcer received the Ford C. Frick Award for his major contributions to baseball. He graduated from SJSU in 1978 after being a walk-on on the basketball team. He then became a sports announcer and campus radio host on KSJS. Pat has been with the Minnesota Twins, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Chicago Cubs.

🔼 Count ‘Em Down. There are 33 days until football season, which reminds us of last year’s win over Wyoming! The Spartans beat the Cowboys 33-16 on their home turf. Chevan Cordeiro threw for 314 yards and was responsible for three touchdowns. Elijah Cooks had 177 receiving yards from eight receptions. Kyle Harmon had himself a night on the other side of the ball, recording 11 tackles.

🔼 Meet The Spartans. We’re back to meeting the newest members of the San José State men’s basketball team. Today, we’re introducing you to Adrame Diongue. He’s a 7’0 center from Dakar, Senegal who transferred from Washington State. He played in 23 games as a freshman with the ‘Cougs and and was a four-star recruit coming out of high school. A fun fact about Adrame: he grew up playing soccer in Senegal.
